Getting the energy to do something after working a long day would be an easy excuse to put off a workout. I have worked my ass off for the last year to start from scratch and build a healthy base. Keeping that drive and fire day in and day out to get better is what strives me to do more. I had someone come up while I was lifting yesterday and compliment my form and they have noticed me in the gym the past few weeks. I was taken back because I worked 11 hours and just felt drained before I even started lifting. That compliment completely changed my perception of everything and definitely gave me a mental boost yesterday. Don't hesitate to compliment other people in the gym. This is my preferred way to do Dumbell bent over rows. Having the same foot forward as the arm which you are rowing with makes it that little bit more challenge because well simply put, if it doesn’t test the will of your muscles is it going to help you grow? After a “post show blow out” of some 20,000+ calories, the sugar and sweet cravings have been kicking my arse this last week since retaking the reigns. I have found a few things that “suppress” the cravings - water and coffee being the two main ones and of course zero calorie drinks. Every time I feel the temptation to give in I look at this picture - this didnt happen by giving into temptation. Those temptations are only temporary, that I do know for sure. It seems like a “cold turkey” period after that mass intake of calories and sugar. It’s natural, we all crave things that we love. All because I eat 5-6 set meals a day of chicken, rice, veg, oats, salmon etc doesn’t mean I don’t have my favourite foods too. These cravings spike when I get stressed, angry or even bored. Fight them as hard as you can and eventually you’ll look back and realise “I didn’t need them before, so I don’t need them now. I am glad I didn’t give in!”

Most beneficial cue I’ve picked up for rowing movements: . Don’t simply squeeze your mid back and “pinch” your scaps together. . Treat your spine like a steel beam, and squeeze AROUND that beam. . This requires your to keep your shoulders down and also pushing them BACK at the peak of contraction on a row. . Just something small, but this cue goes through my head during every rowing set that I do to this day. . Heard this first from @hypertrophycoach and a good person to watch who really accentuates this is @mattjansen8
