24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
26 For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life?
Each of us has a journey of life that we live alone. Some have the responsibility of being a leader, some are becoming teachers. Likewise with our spiritual life. As followers of Christ we have the responsibility of denying ourselves, taking up the cross and following Jesus. To deny ourselves is to let go of our ego for the glory of the name of God. Carrying the cross means being willing to do anything for God for the safety of others and yourself. Following Jesus means walking wherever Jesus goes even if Jesus goes to Golgotha. In the massive persecution of the early church, Peter wanted to escape from Rome one day. On the way Peter saw Jesus entering the city of Rome. He asked "where did You go?" Jesus answered "I want to go to Rome to be crucified again." At that moment Peter was crying because he remembered the denial he had made when Jesus was crucified. He returned to Rome to continue following Jesus. Finally he died in the city of Rome.
Following Jesus has big consequences and responsibilities. Many people are trapped in the wrong understanding when following Jesus. They feel that following Jesus will get abundant wealth. Yet following Jesus means being ready to suffer for the glory of God's name. But believe in God, God will always give us the grace we need so that we can survive until the eternal life that God has promised.
God, I believe in Your blessing in my life. Like Abraham you brought to the promised land, I want to be faithful to follow you wherever you lead. Give me the grace that I need so that I remain faithful in Your way. In Jesus name, Amen.
We are setting up and ready to capture all the special moments today. We would love to see you at one of our two locations today. We can't wait to see you!

Pride swells and inflates the ego; gross sinners are depressed, deflated and empty. They, therefore, have room for God. God prefers a loving sinner to a loveless “saint.” Love can be trained; pride cannot.
- Life of Christ, Fulton Sheen
Verse of the Day - Philippians 1:6
Spiritual growth takes time. It takes years for us to grow to adulthood, and it takes a full season for fruit to mature and ripen. The development of Christlike character cannot be rushed.
While we worry about how fast we grow, God is concerned about how strong we grow. God views our lives from and for eternity, so he is never in a hurry.
The moment you open yourself to Christ, Jesus begins to work in your life. Once Jesus begins to work, He take over more and more of your life as you begin to give Him more and more, until all of you is completely His. There will be struggles and battles, but the outcome will never be in doubt. God has promised that "He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion." (Philippians 1:6, NIV) HALLELUJAH!! If you have not invited Christ into your life, and accepted Him as your Lord and Savior or if you have strayed away and want to rededicate your life to Christ, you can at this very moment right now. Here is how...If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.” (Romans 10:9-11 NIV)

You say I am loved when I can't feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don't belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe, oh I believe
What You say of me
