A big question when it comes to cardio... HIIT vs LISS? HIIT: High Intensity Interval Training; An example of this is 10 - 20 seconds MAXIMUM effort followed by 40-60 seconds at a slow pace then repeat. HIIT is alot more fatiguing on your CNS (Central Nervous System) and your joints in the body which will end up meaning it's a little harder to recover from. Vs LISS: Low Intensity Steady State; An example if this is an incline walk on a treadmill at a moderate pace. LISS is a little easier to fit around your working day. If you miss a workout then simply going for a walk when your home is a good replacement. Here at New U Coaching we recommend to our clients to do either form of cardio that they enjoy more. If our clients prefer HIIT, we try to ensure the timings of the cardio dont impact their strength training performances. Both forms of cardio burn CALORIES and that is the aim at the end of the day. Do what you enjoy people!

This weeks meal prep. Life is so busy at the moment which is why #mealprep is extra important right now. Inspired by @aprilfiit_ and @the_healthy_diary_ I decided to poach my salmon in red onion and chicken broth. It was amazing. I will definitely be poaching more often and the best part was their was no salmon smells lingering in the house. - - 💚 Breakfast - My overnight oats with chia, maca, acai and pepita seeds. Made with Greek yoghurt and milk. Topped with raspberries and bluberries. Aujourd’hui, j’ai décidé d’aborder un sujet qui me tient à cœur : comment les derniers mois ont changé ma vie. Ma perte de poids et mon nouveau mode de vie m’a réellement changée au fond de moi. Les Fitclub m’ont appris à me surpasser, à me battre contre moi même, contre ma fatigue, contre mon anxiété. Très souvent, pendant un entraînement, j'avais envie de pleurer ou même vomir parce que j’avais repoussé mes limites. En effet, je suis restée plusieurs années à végéter, à me dire que j’aurais aimé faire ceci ou cela mais à ne jamais me donner les moyens pour y arriver. Ce mode de vie sains m’a appris la volonté, que lorsqu’on voulait quelque chose, le rêver ne suffisait pas, qu’il fallait se donner les moyens. Ça peut paraitre stupide, mais c’est la réalité. Je suis restée beaucoup trop longtemps dans une espèce de zone confort dans laquelle je me privais par peur de l'inconnu. Cette année m’a fait comprendre que l’on était maitre de sa vie, en tous cas beaucoup plus que ce que je le pensais jusqu’à présent. Et que c’était à nous de poser les petits objectifs qui allaient nous conduire vers le bonheur et la personne que l’on avait envie d’être. J’ai réalisé que je m’étais convaincue, que j’avais intériorisé un nombre incalculable de choses “fausses” à cause de mon manque de confiance et de mon anxiété. Et savez-vous quoi? Aujourd'hui j'ai décidé de prendre les choses en mains pour que sa change.

Skin the cat is commonly utilized in gymnastic strength training, but the exercise also has benefits outside the gymnastics and if practiced then it's easy enough for most people to do. ◾️It can be done on the bar or on rings and I'd recommend everybody to add this technique to their warm-up routine as it's great to get your shoulders stretched out.
