We Talk to Each Other, but How Many of us Connect? 👥
Aristotle said that every person needs to speak with another person otherwise you'll go crazy. I totally agree. But I think we need to take it a step or two further.
When you connect with someone, you hear their story, start to troubleshoot their problems, and try to give them value that will benefit them greatly.
Don't just BS with people, connect with them.
Let's Connect 👉🏽 HitMeUp
Bit of a selfish post but hopefully there’s a lesson in here to be learned: Few days ago I was invited to London to give a talk & arrived a day early, so I just ventured around the place; I visited Camden, Canary Wharf & Greenwich Observatory (pictured), some of my favourite places in the city but it was something I wouldn’t have otherwise done because money and spending is bad blah blah... But it was the friggin’ best!!! Gave me a much needed reset button & can highly recommend anybody looking for success or inspiration in their business to just hang around these places & soak up the vibes.. Do the things that you’re waiting to do after you’ve “made it” NOW, don’t skimp out on your genuine happiness! 😊
You may recognize @drthabo as a previous guest on NDINI. We featured an interview with this inspiring International Speaker and Coach in Episode 39. She shared her remarkable story of making this promise at 14 years old as she stood at her mother’s graveside - “I will fulfill my ambition. I will try by all means, and I will strive to be a doctor, mama.” This promise ultimately became the guiding light for her journey to becoming a doctor.
In 2006, Nothabo and her family moved to Canada. They settled in Regent Park, which provided accommodation for low income families. Dr. Thabo recounts how life was incredibly challenging, and how she often wishes her mother was still alive. Given her circumstances and surroundings, Dr Thabo could have easily been led astray. But she was committed to honouring her promise. With financial assistance from Pathways to Education, which is an organization that provides educational financial assistance for low-income youth, Dr Thabo was able to get an undergraduate degree from one of Canada’s top universities.
Dr Thabo was accepted into medical school, but with no additional funding available to her, she saw her dream of becoming a doctor rapidly start to fade. A chance opportunity to attend a taping of Oprah Winfrey’s ‘Life Class’ was what Dr Thabo needed to reinvigorate her in her quest to go to medical school. Not long after, Dr Thabo was gifted $10,000 by a hairdresser she barely knew, but who was inspired by hearing Dr. Thabo’s story.
Dr. Thabo fulfilled the promise to her mother to become a doctor, but she has since found what she believes is her bigger purpose and calling. She is now a motivational speaker and coach empowering people through her story and experiences. "When you allow the light to shine, you unconsciously give permission for other women to do the same." - Dr. Nothabo Ncube

A fabulous weekend at the @keswickfestival with @vivobarefoot & @thevvagon, talking all things barefoot, adventures, Atlantic Ocean row and sustainability.
There was so much to do; talks, films, runs, triathlons, slacklining, beach clean, yoga, delicious food, expedition planning, music and partying.
It’s such an honour to have met and spent time with the Vivo team. They are wholesome, fun and LOVE their job. .
I love my job too!
It’s taken 4 years to get here but I’m finally doing what I’ve wanted to do for years. I needed that time to put in the effort and work things out.
I enjoy sharing my journey of how I went from a shopaholic, beauty salon owner to minimalist ocean rower. Re-living it all is a real pleasure.
I’m also thrilled I got to run a cheeky, 10km trail race too! I haven’t run properly in ages!
The views up in the mountains were spectacular. I took my Go Pro, I’ll share some scenes with you soon x
Do you seek to be known more than to be worth knowing? This is the question I challenged myself with this week.
After 7 days with my phone turned off it became clear to me: I seek 2 things- Growth & Greatness. I also gained clarity in how social media fits in my pursuit towards these two things. From the early days of setting and recapping my goals on Facebook Live, to every piece of content I put out now on a daily basis, social media is my accountability tool. I refuse to preach on that which I do not practice. That means for me to continually increase the quality of my content to make an impact at scale, I must grow at a rapid pace and settle for nothing less than great.
“You may not need to be great, but the world needs your greatness. Whatever God has placed on you that could ever be described as great was never meant for you, anyway. It’s a stewardship that has been given to you. Greatness never belongs to the one who carries it; it belongs to the world that needs it”.
The fight for growth and greatness is not easy, as pain is the prerequisite, but it’s worth it.
“The warrior’s legacy can be written only on the other side of pain. The way of the warrior teaches us that we cannot stand in our greatness if we cannot stand in our pain”.
“You will never live the life you were created to live or achieve your greatest dreams if you’re not willing to bear the weight of that greatness and pay the price of pain that journey demands.”
These quotes came from a book I read by @erwinmcmanus this week titled- The Way of the Warrior. It is no coincidence that I stumbled upon his message this year, was able to interview him last month, and this book made it on my trip this week. It spoke directly to my heart and I was filled with conviction, assurance, and hope. The book is centered around this truth- “You cannot bring peace to the world if you have never come to know peace within yourself”.
I finish with one last quote that brought me to tears- “So many times I have found myself most vulnerable after I had seemed most unstoppable. Those who see you from a distance will notice the battles you fight for them but not the ones you fight for yourself.”
Acting, didn't really see this coming. I'm closing out the last chapter and starting this completely different one and it's happening right before my very eyes. I'm literally rushing the old out the door to make room for all these new and exciting adventures. I am happier than I've ever been. I'm gonna stop with this caption because I can feel a rant coming on and I got stuff to do lol. But I will say this, I can finally see what all the hype is about. I feel free 🥂🤗🕺🏾🙏 S/o to @lewissmith_actorsacademy adding you to my story was unexpected but perfectly timed and and I thank you ❤️
Yesterday my cousin snapped this picture of Mr. Tobz and I after we found a four-leaf clover 💚. These rare clovers are believed to bring good luck and I’m all for it!
It’s my good fortune that Mr. Tobz came into my life unexpectedly, nine years ago 🙏. This bond is unlike any other and I’m sure y’all understand if you have a furry best friend.
Do you have one in your life? If so, what do you appreciate most about your furry BFF?
The biggest thing I’ve learned: though Mr. Tobz doesn’t speak human, he understands and communicates better than most humans do with each other!💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 This is love in one of the purest forms for it is selfless and unconditional with no strings attached. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

👨🏾💻: Honoring the LEGACY of Malcolm X... (more in my stories)
“We need more light about each other. Light creates understanding, understanding creates love, love creates patience, and patience creates unity.“ — Malcolm X
“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.” — Malcolm X
The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses.” — Malcolm X
“There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance next time.”
— Malcolm X
“If you have no critics you'll likely have no success.” — Malcolm X
“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” — Malcolm X
“I'm for truth, no matter who tells it. I'm for justice, no matter who it's for or against.” — Malcolm X

𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐕𝐒 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝
Not everyone will have the same ambitious goals as you, you may want to leave your mark on the world 🌎 , make a difference.
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐬 ⭐️ 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐨𝐧 🌚.
WHILE others find happiness in a simple life.
I have never been cut ✂️ out for the simple life, I’ve always aspired to do more, be more, and grow more, but along the way I’ve realized the only people that really care what you’re doing, the only people that want to hear about it, that are cheering you on, are the people doing the same...
𝐓𝐢𝐩: 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬...
Keep the conversation simple and share your plans with those that will appreciate your ambition and not negativity judge you for it.
These are the moments to live for!!!
Imagine going through some incredible storms, facing a massive uphill and have complete uncertainty of what's to come! .
Once that period has passed you get to enjoy the calm winds with the gentle sun on your body. Everything feels just right!
This is when you get to look back and think hey I've gone through a lot have have learned so much from it. Then you get an appreciation for both the good and bad because it is what shaped you in that awesome being you are!
Keep moving forward! .
Grandma so wise, you ought to listen.
Something small from me too:
Don't allow your mistakes to keep you from everything God has for you. God is a father and He ain't always mad at you whenever you fall, especially if you're heading towards Him. Go back to Him and allow Him to fix and heal you as only He can. Keep moving. Your only enemy is yourself and an unhealthy mentality of who you are.
When delivering a long presentation... I think it’s really important, near the beginning, to inform the audience on what the ‘Plan of Action’ is going to be ... 📈
Audiences like to know where they are going, what is to be expected & what they can hope to achieve from the day... By sharing your ‘Plan of Action’ with them you allow your audience know all of these points, and this will lead to a better experience all round! 🏆
This is because they will be completely focused on your content instead of wondering what’s coming next... So for your next presentation make sure you share your ‘Plan of Action’ 👊🏻
Just heard @jutt34 of @gnmpodcast said, “I’m not trying to impress you, but I want to impress upon you.” If every communicator understood that they would be booked to speak on any stage they wanted to be on.

So I teach people that police are most effective when they focus on being fair service providers rather than agrressive law enforcers. The research on police-community relationships indicates that authorities who reflect fairness, bring about trust and satisfaction.
I have also come to understand that these theories apply to how I interact with those I educate. This week, I made a mistake with my University course and almost had a meltdown. BUT as I crafted my resolution, I recognized my work on policing shaping my pedagogy.
I had to be honest, I had to give my students space to vent and I had to be helpful even though I was stressed annoyed and anxious.
I'll be going live in two hours to share the details and hear from you all too! See you in a couple of hours and tag any other educators you think would benefit from this discussion.
